WOW!! That thing is so hammered it should be in an AA meeting. The surfaces look clean enough to go 66 but I think the semi flat luster holds it back to a 65. This is a beautiful coin that had it had booming luster might have made it to 66+ shot 67.

Of course this is all based on my thinking that the area in the field between the buffalo's legs is haze on the plastic and not a patch of hairlines on the coin itself. I do see a scratch in the holder going over the buffalo's shoulder.

I noticed all that stuff too. I think the long scratches are on the holder but it appears, the chatter under the buff might be on the coin. In other words, all the grade limiting stuff is on the reverse. The obverse is exceptional though!! Interested to see how this one turns out

Nice strike and super clean, but I’m going 62 on the old holder. Appears to be very light corrosion on the reverse below the buffalo’s head and through FIVE CENTS, also on the obverse to the left of Liberty and up around the top of the forehead in the unexposed area.

Hard to judge luster from those pics, looks kinda like a 58 but I don’t see any wear so I’ll stick with a great looking low-MS coin with a nice splash of color.
