gtg 1898 IHC

You guys are such good graders-heres one i decided to dust off and post... what grade would you assign this one?? Its in an icg holder so you can put your skills up against the eagled eyed folks @ icg! Big reveal tommorow!

Sure looks like an awful lot of fuzz in this holder... i might crackit depending upon what the census is here

I don't see much luster, is this a scan or photo ?

I see the 4 diamonds, MS-62 ?

 

Its a cell phone sorry about the pics... it has muted luster but it IS there just underneath the toning

IMO probably a 58 or 60, but a TPG probably would give it more like a 63. Assuming there are no scratches, hairlines or problems. Impossible to say definitively without the coin in hand or much better pictures.

Sorry the colors way off.... its not that pinkish looking lemon juice cleaned color..i guess i need to capture these with a camera instead of my phone

 

MS details cleaned - and not because of the color.

 

And the winner is.... maine bill..,.i.think icg graded this one sorta like you lol.... aaaaaaaahhhh.well give er a 63?? Surface pres. is nice on this one... theres only one noticeable mark on obverse... but the color is hazy muting luster on it in some areas,,, the coin has a nice red reverse.... i think its just turned brown in an unusual way., which appeals to me

Oh and btw i believe i gave $35 for this one maybe $40

 

And here is its brother. When I posted it here, the general guess ran 63/64, but I will not try to cross it to either NGC or PCGS. Reason - IMO and several others, the coin has been cleaned (specifically wiped).

 

Brother??? I might give u 3rd cousin,,, i.see atleast 3 major differences-#1 surface marks/scratches.#2 color..,,,#3 mine doesnt have the big ugly smear across it.. my coin was just a cheap type example that the price/eye appeal was right on,,, i.dont collect these but im not stupid.. i dont buy cleaned coins........and im also not dumb enough to crack.it and resend,... the.census here was 50/50 problem free/cleaned... sounds about.right to me

Oh sorry i thought u were saying your coin LOOKED like mine .... i thought brothers did as well... ive been on the defense here lately sorry and i know a lil about woodies chuckle... isnt the wipe what caused said smear??
