AU Details Chopmarked ...unfortunately PCGS and NGC do not give straight grades to world chop marked coins (PCGS does only for US Trade Dollars; NGC does not even for those).
I didn’t realize that US trade dollars were the only coins they would straight grade with chop marks. Seems like an arbitrary and stupid policy.
It is an odd policy that only US Trade Dollars can straight grade-and even then, only at PCGS. Maybe they just aren't confident enough that they have the people to authenticate anything outside of the US Trade Dollars?
I meant to authenticate the chops; with the US Trade Dollars there is likely more information out there but with other coins that were less frequently chopped, it could end up being a guess if it's a contemporary chop or something more modern.
