We haven't done a GTG in a while so here's one I picked up at the FUN Show. Vote in the poll and if you feel like saying why you voted a certain grade, please tell us. In a NGC holder. Reveal tomorrow afternoon.
Not seeing anything keeping it out of gem. Only cut of any prominence is just above eye lid and is barely noticeable. Rest are just grazes in luster from contact with other coins. MS65 to these eyeballs and wouldn't be surprised if that's on the conservative side.
I voted MS-64 but it could be somewhere between a 64 & 65. I owned an 1892 in 63 years ago and it was quite ugly compared to this.
I voted 64 but I'm not going to be surprised if NGC gave it 62. There are a lot of tiny marks in the obverse fields and these were saved in large numbers as a new design, so TPGs may be harder on them.
I'm in the 64 camp. Shame that little slash on the face holds it back from gem. Beautiful coin no what. Best, enjoy it!
Good choices, all. But @longshot got it perfect at MS-64+. I picked this coin for its naked eye overall appeal and great luster. It replaces a coin in the Type Set that I purchased for probably 75 cents back in 1964, shown below. A bit of an upgrade, don't you think?
