Good/funny story with this one... I've been as always looking at and shopping for Morgans and last weekend I saw these horrible pic's on a BIN/BO.. well he was asking a good 30% over list so I almost just skipped past it, but I already had PCGS verify open so I punched it in and really liked what i saw in the pcgs glamor shot... so I offered $10 over list price (you guys know me, i stinky about paying over list lol)... No surprise he declined the offer... today he made me an offer.... At list price... yup yup I got another morgan lol Here are the bad pic's and the glamor shot... Watcha think
I'm oscillating between 62 pl and 63 pl and the spot in the field to the left of the neck is a bit worrisome....I'll give it the benefit of doubt (more marks visible because of the PL surfaces) and say MS 63 PL
62 PL. Nice coin, typically baggy, with the usual striations of a PL Morgan. The left side obverse fields are a bit rough looking, as it looks like there was an accumulation of die polish in that area when the strike occurred. I would grade it higher, if the obverse was a bit cleaner. All of the low to mid grade PL coins have this look.
a little early (as usual lol) and now I can say what I think about the grade... That one spot on the obverse holds the coin back from anything higher then a 63 grade while the reverse could probably score 65 so I can't really argue much with a grade of MS62PL even if I think it should get the 63PL from the responces most of you agree Also as usual Right on the money @Morgandude11
