It looks like a 67 to me. That's the cleanest reverse I've seen in a while, and the prime focal areas of the obverse are pretty nice, too. Chris
Beautiful - I gotta say 66+ just cause I haven't seen hardly any 67's to compare to, that I remember.
Yeah she's sweet I'll say 66 but a + or * wouldn't surprise me at all... even with a 67 in front of them. One of the sweetest Morgan's I've seen posted!
Nice pics, especially considering the grade the coin forces us to consider. 66 in my book, a + wouldn't floor me. Can't quite get to 67 for it.
Thank you for all the replies, First coin show, first purchase. I held a lot of coins and Morgan's today and this is the one I decided to take home with me. I will let this run until tomorrow morning when I return to the show.
That coin is drop dead gorgeous. For a Morgan it is almost scar free. I say 66, 66 + or 67. And a star is more than a distinct possibility.
No way is the coin a 67, so I'll rule that out immediately. The cheek is incredibly clean. The obverse pictures seem to show a good bit of luster, but the strike is not great. The eye appeal is neutral, that type of toning often indicates to me a dip and improper rinse. The reverse pictures are out of focus, so grading from them is impossible. They could be hiding any number of ticks and marks - the sort of fine detail that will determine the difference between a 65 and 66. In summary - based on the pictures, I'd wager 65 and hope that a 66 showed up when I got it in hand (but I wouldn't be expecting it).
Off to the show again. Really like this coin. Threw in some more photos. The reverse mark under God is on the holder. The only bag marks I could see where to the right of the eagle. Thanks for playing.
