Ah gosh, what happened to that one? First you have to dip off all that environmental damage. The pictures are fuzzy when you zoom them up, but I can't see anything holding her out of gem, either. Oh, MS66. Pretty woman.
As The mighty Lehigh once exclaimed - I dont care if that coin has ms65/66 surfaces Im calling it a MS67 ALL DAY LONG !!!! Holy sonuva That is definitely a drool worthy specimen !
MS-65 I can't tell if that is chatter at 3 o'clock under NUM or just the way the photo came out. I'll play it a little conservative. Awesome coin!
Ok, now for the exciting conclusion. When I first saw this coin it was graded as a MS 65. I thought it was at least a 66, so I bid on it and won. When I sent it in for reconsideration, it came back as a MS 65+. Even in hand it looked like an easy MS 66. I couldn't believe it.
The cheek and fields certainly look clean...and I have seen worse in 66 holders....someday that coin will be in at least a 66+ holder and rebeaned.
In the TrueView I actually do see more marks (some on the cheek and in the fields above and below the nose). I might be more inclined to agree with 65+/66, but I have still seen worse in higher holders and thus would not question this in a 66+ holder.
Is it perhaps a weak strike for an 81-S? Beautiful coin no matter what number is on the label, love it
