'63 PL......what's with the slice through the eye (obverse)? Tell me it's on the holder and I'll go up a point........

 

Planchet defect. It's not so much a slice, more an impurity. Same with the O on the date.

 

Then 64PL

 

I don't know if the reverse is enough to make PL, the obverse is a different story. I think NGC gave this one MS-65★ and if the reverse is reflective enough to go PL then it possibly made MS-65PL★. The obverse looks like it might have enough to be a DPL for NGC.

The extremely frosty devices and reflective fields on the obverse tend to overemphasize minor marks. While this one looks like a 63, I think it probably just made a 65.

 

I cant tell about the reverse, it looks like it should be atleast PL. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The obverse is nice, frosty snow cone, luster i'll go atleast 64PL shot 65 and a possible star if the reverse has less depth

 

Nice coin. Likely an MS64-star or MS64PL.

 

MS64PL or 64* if the reverse fell short.

 

MS-63PL, maybe even DMPL.

 

64PL I think the reverse makes PL, but the defect keeps it from gem.

 

MS 64 PL ...I'm also thinking it has enough to go above a star and into a PL
