GTG - 1878 CC Morgan

Haven’t done one of these in a while. Probably won’t be too much of a disagreement over this one.

Nicely struck MS 62, maybe PL obverse, but would need more photos. Reverse def not. Still an attractive coin despite cheek, eyebrow, field chatter and a less clean than usual reverse.

I'll say MS 62.
A higher grade would be a bit of a surprise while a 60 or 61 wouldn't be out of the question (depending on how bad and numerous the graders thought all the hits were).

 

Agreed. It is a MS coin, but has gotten a lot of bag marks in prominent places. The photography does not flatter it. I sad 62, but could be in the 60-63 range, easily. A low BU grade Morgan.

 

I think the CC got a bump

 

Quite possibly the CC bump; I'd likely pass on the coin unless it was a great deal.

 

She does look to be more 62-ish. The other girls in the bag shoved her around. I do think she has character, though. I'd call her a survivor.
