Earlier I posted my first graded coin, well here's the second. Gotta love the double dime! What do y'all think?

    AU details, but TPG XF45.

    Nice coin, though.

I agree about the obverse, the reverse is what sold me on this

Agree with the AU details comments but wouldn't be surprised if it netted to a 45. The cleaning shoes to seem all that bad.

Alright well I was going to wait until morning to post it but what the heck I'm in a good mood. The parents just drove down to Georiga from Ohio so that means they are willingly excepting crazy toddler duty which leaves me with - shall I dare say it - free time! [emoji51] Well not free time but I am clocking OT tonight so there's that.

The seller photos weren't the best but the coin still looked to be fairly decent - or at least enough for me to feel comfortable making an offer. It was listed for $170 but I made an offer of $100. It took them about 2 minutes to accept it. I love double dimes and had no problem paying that for a details coin. The obverse shows more cleaning than the reverse which has a nice strike.

I think the evidence of cleaing was obvious but does anyone think this has a chance of net grading with PCGS? I've never sent a coin in before but if it were to net grade a 40 or 45 (which may be stretch) that would be a nice score. Keeping it either way!

I think you'd get an AU details with PCGS as well. I'd leave it be unless you just don't like ANACS slabs.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but thought there may be a shot. I don't particularly dislike ANACS slabs but if there was any shot it could straight grade in PCGS I'd do it.

I appreciate the participation and feedback as always. I think @Galen59 was the winner here although I like @Dougmeister's answer better!

Edit: Would ya'll say I did well given the price paid ($100)?

$100 for an AU details cleaned is a GREAT deal.

Happy to hear I made out well. I figured it was a good deal, can't believe the seller didn't even try to counter offer. Was able to snag this, the Barber quarter, and some toned Washington's from a certain someone for the price of a coin and chronicles set.

Very well bought coin that I would leave exactly as is! One failed submission and the coin is still very nice but the well bought part disappears.

    Nice coin.

  21. you did well on price and value i'd be proud to have her and keep her just the way she is presented
