Ok lets start with I DON't agree with the grade on this slab, and almost every one I have looked at 1-2 higher grades had more wear. 3 grades higher looked like this coin. Dead serious, this coin is Not going to spend 24hrs in my house before it heads out to NGC to be crossed over/regraded and i'm 99% positive it will recieve at least the next higher grade if not 2 higher :D While there were 2-3 coins of higher grade I considered most were at best equal to this one and twice the price... I may be wrong, but I don't think so...

PS last one for the month! I promise!!... Unless i win one of the still running auctions lol but no more bidding lol

so here you go let's have some grade opinions on this pretty :D

I'm debating between VF 35 and XF 40.....I believe the reverse has a little too much wear to get up to XF, so I will go with VF 35

VF 35, on the cusp of XF 40. Nice original surfaces coin.

I thought VF30 too but I bet it got XF40 on the slab.

My first inclination was a VF30 so that's what I'm sticking with.

    Nice original, honest wear.

My first thought was VF35, seems to be too much wear for XF imo

No way AU and less than 45 to me...maybe 40 at most on a good day but more likely 35.

Since the OP is convinced the coin is under-graded, I'll guess the label says VF-20.

Ok guys here we go. but 1st a short explanation of my opinion of it being undergraded. I have been shopping for an AU FE for over a year. Before this LONG bit of shopping and looking at literaly hundreds of graded FEs, I have to say in "COMPARISON" to other graded FEs 35-58, this coin in my book should rate about an AU 50 maybe even a 53 (it has greater and cleaner details then any 45 or 50 I have seen, It readily compares favorably with 53's and 55's I have seen. So while I might have graded this coin a 35 or 40 a year ago I have to call it a 45-50 after seeing what's out there in ngc and pcgs slabs :D I know many won't agree but this coin is going back for regrading as soon as it arrives so we will see if my opinion rings true :D

EF-40 was my number before I saw the slab.

Don't waste your money. The coin might get an EF-45 from NGC, but it's not worth it, and it's worth more in the PCGS holder.

I'm with @johnmilton. I'd be happy with that coin graded XF-40 in a PCGS slab and wouldn't mess with it.
