how would one acquire a greysheet. Im a new collector and figured it would help me get started. i have a decent collection right now of pcgs graded coins but would like to know greysheet prices so i wont over pay at auctions etc.... thanks for the help.[/FONT]
I would suggest that you look for ended auctions on ebay and such to get better prices...the Grey Sheet is more for dealers and it is $$$ too... Speedy
I agree with Speedy that completed auction listings on Ebay are a good source of pricing info, but if you still want the Greysheet you can order it here http://www.greysheet.com
Look at prices realized under the major auction houses like Heritage and Teletrade. These auction houses trade certified coins all of the time and will also give you the prices realized for PCGS, NGC, ANACS and ICG coins.
Before spending money on the Grey Sheet you should also keep in mind that in most cases they do not list values for coins graded above MS or PF65. And most modern coins are not listed at all.
you people are great. thanks for the help. I have been aquiring coins already graded by pcgs from auction houses and based on the pcgs price guide feel that i have been getting pretty good deals but of course my funds are limited as of now. I just spent 300 bucks sending off 7 coins that were previously graded and were part of an investment some time ago from Numismatic Investments of New England, Of course the company is no more but i had coins that were already graded by them and too to a dealer and he said i would send them in if they were his so he sent them in for me(he's a pcgs dealer) so hopefully i get the grades that they are now.... once again thanks for the info...
I hope that you don't use the PCGS price guide any more...if so...quit--they hype the prices up and they are not anywhere near what they should be... Speedy
