Hi All, this probably is a rookie question but here goes. What years where the Great Britain & Northern Ireland proof sets produced? The sets are VERY afforable and I may put together a whole set. I have a couple that I had picked up here and there at coin shows and flea markets. I don't think I paid more than $5 for any of them. (I need to have something to collect while looking for those Icelandic coins) LOL Thanks in Advance! Mark in NJ
hi mark there are proof sets dating back to george III, if you can pick up proof uk sets for $5 then get me some........ john
Most likely, you are addressing the more recent British proof sets. They began in 1970 with the final year of predecimal issues and have continued on, uninterrupted with all decimal coinage since 1971.
