Here are some half penny coins I bought that the backs are completely smooth. They were most lokely ground smooth but I was wondering if any one knew the correct weight for them. These are all .17 of an ounce each. Thanks
I don't think they were printed without a back, they look as if they are extremely worn on the back from the picture. Perhaps the group sat in a chemical of some sort?
The half pennt should weigh 5.7 grams, which is 0.19xx ounces your coins are closer to 5.2 grams so are under weight and most likely have had the reverse milled off. Sorry Kie
