This coin weights 28.2 g on my digital scale and 38.5 mm in diameter

It is stated in Krause that there are two 1977 New pence, one is copper-nickel and the other is silver proof.

my coin doesnt seem proof to me but may a copper-nickel and a silver coin of same size weight the same ?

    Thanks

We had a similar question here http://www.cointalk.com/t89235/ ... and I now think that both the size and weight of a silver coin are actually the same as that of the Cu-Ni equivalent. However, the thickness should be a little different.

This coin, isn"t it? It"s a copper-nickel. The same size (like a silver coin).
