I just got this coin, the one shown in my avatar, and I was just wondering about its composition, and ballpark value.

I can't really see it but I don't believe it holds significant value besides a tiny prenium over it's metal value. Most regular circulated coins minted after WWII don't hold much value simply because they were massively minted.

km878 2 Shillings (1949-1951) in uncirculated condition its worth about 10 bucks I think, circulated far less. Or its worth what a person will give for it. Its base metal copper-nickel . (I think)

Drusus,it is a cupro-nickel coin.Silver was last used as a coinage metal in 1946,except for the Maundy coins. The fineness of the Maundy coins was increased from .500 fine silver to .925 fine silver in 1947.
