If these are not PMD, I may have a 1994 penny with VERY minor grease strike on the "S" in STATES and I also may have a 1995 penny with a more prominent grease strike including the "E" & "S" in STATES; the "o" & "F" in oF; & the "U" in PLURIBUS. My questions are: 1. Are pennies susceptible to grease strikes in this general area ? 2. Are pennies susceptible to higher wear in this general area ?
Grease filled Die and also part of the design. This is a very common problem with Zinc Cents. To answer your questions, yes and yes.
