Hi folks, My grandson was paid in these this summer. Worth saving? Maybe only the best 1934 bill? Steve
I keep all Silver Certificates, no matter the condition. If he wants to make money, the top one is in the best condition to get a premium, in my opinion, the others will increase in price with age, so I recommend he keep them.
Tell your grandson to go back to the person who paid him with these and ask if he has any more work for him.
Speaking to you was the best thing your grandson did..sleeve them up...avoid harsh lighting...explore more currency with him..
Excellent start to a collection, and most certainly worth keeping. I'd be happy to work for someone who paid me in vintage currency. While they may not be super valuable, the history they hold and the fact that they are continuing the journey the were design to carry out is just amazing. It's so much better that they were acquired the way they were, rather than just purchasing them from a coin shop. Hopefully they will develop a strong sentimental value for your grandson as he gets older. It will be a good emotional foundation for a potential future hobby. How old is your grandson if you don't mind me asking?
@jtlee321, Graysen is 22. He has been mowing for this man and his neighbors in a condo association since he was about 13. They love him. He'll be heading to Vandenberg AFB on Jan. 2nd as a newly commissioned 2nd Lt. His father (my son) is taking over some of his mowing contracts. I'm putting them in sleeves for him, and will contribute a few more older bills I've assembled, and will hope to spark an interest in collecting. Steve
