Hello. I just purchased a coin and it is PL2. What is that? I am familiar with BU, AU, VF, etc.
Is this the PCI or whatever the "new" grading system is? Thanks---John

Do you mean FR2 or PO1, because I doubt there is a such thing as a prooflike coin that bad...

The coin looks like it is VG10

Says higher grade PL2. Have no idea what that means. Looks like G to me.

Went to grading site, it looks between VG10 and F12 to me.

Don't even bother with PCI's grading. Not trustworthy IMO. Just skip the grade and look at the coin. VG10 in my opinion

Is it some sort of designation for Flying Eagle cents?

Actually, at one time they weren't a bad grading company...but that time was long ago.

Looks to be a typical evil bay error. At least as far as grading goes. I'll take it!
It didn't cost much and its not much worse than my 1858, that is an F, maybe
    VF at best.

That sounds like something on the slab, not on the label. Again can you post a picture of the slab? (Front and back if possible)

    PL = Proof Like ?

Perhaps that's what they meant. Sadly though, this coin does not look like a proof or proof like.

I don`t think there is anything such as PL-2 since PL is more like mint condition since MS is not proof and PL is basically mint state with proof. All I have heard is PL 60 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70. I think they got it mixed up with some other grade.

There is no slab. Just pic I showed. I think this is someone who knows nothing
about coin grading. I seriously doubt I could ever buy a proof 1857 Flying Eagle
for 19 bucks!!! If anyone knows where I can please let me know.---John

To me NO! But I went to a good site where I bought a lot
of coins in the past and an 1857 Flying Eagle "about good"
is $23.50. Oh well. I still like it for some odd reason.---John
