Just wondering what the grade on this thing would be?
Its my oldest Half Dollar right now, and I think its in good (not as in the grade) condition :)

Oh, and these Pictures should be big enough, with alot of detail :kewl:

I'd give it a VG8. Is that a gouge in the eagles left wing?

ANA Grading Standards for Walking Liberty Half Dollar

VG8: Obverse- Entire design is weak. Most details in gown are worn smooth except for coins after 1921, on which half of the stripes must show. Date and all letters are clear but top of motto may be weak. Rim is complete. Drapery across body is partially visable.
Reverse- About one third of feathers are visable and large feathers at the ends of the wings are well seperated. Eye is visable. Rim is full and all letters are clear.

F12: Obverse: Gown stripes are worn but show clearly except for coins before 1921, on which half are visable. Right leg is lightly worn. Left leg is nearly flat and sandal is worn but visable. Center of body is worn but some of the gown is visable.
Reverse: Breast is worn smooth. Half of wing feathers are visable although well worn in spots. Two top layers of feathers are visable in left wing. Rim is full.

I'll stick with the grade I originally gave.

I'm gonna go with a f-12 as you have to remember that the relief was changed and grading standards for the walker are in the ANA are pretty much for 1921 and after before they grade a bit differently so f-12 in my book.

VG-8 looks like the skirt lines are completely worn.

G-6 as there is very little detail remaining on that coin. no skirt lines on the obverse and no feathers on the reverse.

I would split it obv G-6/ rev VG-8. The obverse seems to be really nicked up, and the reverse is stained, so a net G-6 for this one.

I'll say VG-10 details, but with some problems like the reverse gouge and the discoloration.

I would grade the coin a VG-8. Nice half!

Thats a fine for sure, maybe a VF with notes for the issues--the coin may or may not have skirt lines for that year. The right brest is almost outlined (would have to glass it), the sandle looks to be there. The issues would hold it from being a vf.
