I'd like to start a grading thread where we can share and ask questions about specific coins we are working with. And maybe tell a few stories about our own mistakes. I have plenty!
I'll start: I'm checking out a 1936-D Washington Quarter that appears to have a double or Triple Strick. You can see the error under heavy mag.
I've included a jpg of the assumed to be error. Anyone hear of this year having an error?

Well feel free to start any thread relating to grading. As one who submits thousands of coins for encapsulation, I have plenty of war stories myself.

There are repunched mint marks on the 36 quarter. That looks like that may be what you have. It is hard to tell without actually seeing the coin.
Several varieties of this is known.

There are plenty of rpm's in that series and there's also a lot of ejection doubling. A quick rule of thumb is ejection doubling, otherwise known as maching doubling, is typically flat. An actual repunched mintmark or doubled die would be raised above the coins surface.
    Hope this helps!

A few of the listed 1936-D Washington quarter RPM's are:

    K25-10 Doubled Mintmark includes:
    K25-11 Doubled Mintmark
    RPM 1, Breen 4284, Spadone 1238a

    K25-12 Tripled Mintmark

    K25-13 D/Horizontal D
    Breen 4285

Don't know for sure if your's is one of these, or not.

    Hmmmm

Well now--thankfuly I have not made a bad mistake but once I did miss read an e-bay item--A graded 1/2 dollar that was PF and I though it was MS but still am glad I got it--It went up not too long ago :p

Right now I'm going through a hoard of coins that a local builder in town owns....He does not know much about coins--only what he paid for them...He will only bring the hoard little by little and I just got the first little

I have found some simi keys in there already--1938-d 1/2 dollar 1897-s 1/2 dollar.....
