Hi Collectors, I bit and sent 10 coins to ICG for their grading (using there "special") and was quite surprised. Although collecting since the mid 60's and watching the market on graded coins, from ANACS in the early 80's and then slabbed coins,I found that ICG was very conservative-ie: A Gem Peace $ from stack's came back a 62! Does appear a strong 64 probably a 65-Another one, again Stack's graded near choice Unc.returned as a 58. These are just 2 examples, for I found myself breaking 5 out-and I have never "cracked-out" coins before.
I suppose I am just picking your thoughts on the services and am curious if ICG has a Rep. for being as or more tough then PCGS?
    Enjoy the Hobby!! Dan B.

I would say that coins are likely graded accurately. ICG does a pretty good job with the older coins, it's with the modern stuff that they tend to over-grade. But if you ever try to sell them, they won't bring the same price that they would in PCGS slab or an NGC slab.

I agree with GDJMSP. I send mine to NGC. To me its worth the extra price.
