Grade/value 1844 large cent

Found this for 8 bucks at a local antique store, tell me what you think, if it was worth it or not. Thanks!

Eight bucks ? Sure; why not ? I can barely get a plate of Tex-Mex enchiladas for $8. And this large cent will still be around long after the gas dies down.

I'm sure you'll get more than $8 worth of enjoyment out of it.

 

At somewhere around twenty bucks in G-4, I think you did very well!

 

I'm grading it at F-12, maybe? $25.00 in the Red Book.
