Raw coin. It's in a plastic holder and I couldn't get a good focus on the reverse. (Click on picture to enlarge)
Beautiful coin I like to say MS and maybe it is unless the left leg just above the knee cap and just below her navel are these spots wear? From the images it looks to be. If it is AU-58 FH it it isn't easy 64 FH No matter the grade it's a keeper for sure.
The strike is Awesome. Even the clarity of the hair and facial features and wing is clear. It is hard to get the luster from these pics but they look slightly muted. The toning is very subtle, with very few contact marks. If I was putting a grade on this, the muted luster keeps it out of a 66 holder. therefore a 65 FH, or what Eddie said. The obverse was struck very well.
Wow. No worse than 64, but meaning no offense I'd want sharper images to offer a firm opinion. Except the opinion that I'd be glad to own it.
Looks like an attractive, well struck coin. Can't grade from the out-of-focus pictures, but it appears like it is nice.
It is tough to grade from those images but it certainly looks to be either MS64 or MS65 FH. The FH designation is expected for this date/mm as 80% of all 1917-P Type I have full head. The friction on the leg is common and attributed to roll friction, not wear, and will not drop the coin to AU. I think the deciding factor between 64 and 65 will be related to luster which looks good to me. I say MS65 FH
So, The OP said it was in plastic, but he did not say that it was graded. Can you take it out of the holder? and get better pics @davidh
