    Nice toning on that 1940.

The 1940 - Though it has nice color, it has a lot of wear. XF-AU

The 1943 - Not as much wear as the 40, but enough to say AU

    The 1944 - BU - Gem Unc.

I think that BUncirculated is spot on.

I'm not seeing the wear on the 44-D. The luster seems dull, but I'd assume that's because of the way it was photographed rather than being dipped, but you can't really tell without seeing it in person IMO. Maybe my eyes are too old, but I can't see any wear on it.

no, I think you're seeing it the same way as I am, Peter, but the luster doesn't seem dull, it seems non-existant. Without any luster, you can't have an AU coin let alone UNC.

are you saying that prooflike coins have no luster? If not, I am missing your point, Paul
