Sorry for the not so great photos, but what would you grade this piece?

Looks easily MS66. Of course, photos are kind of dark.

I seem to see some wear, so I'll venture (probably wrongly) AU 58

Looks like a nice AU. Missing a bit of luster, but the details are all there.

Do you guys think it is worth a shot at grading?

    They are copper-nickel.
No such thing as BR or RB or RD for those coins.

Very nice! I'd probably go MS61. Does the rim nick at 5:30 lower the grade? If so, how much would you think?

AU53 - the rim nick is too small to affect the grade

Well judging from the images I say high Au/ Ms ,that said I'll also toss this in RPD 002. See if your date matches this image. 59rpd2f.jpg

Grading based upon such photos is folly, but from what can be seen, an MS grade should rightly be out of the question.

From what I can tell, my date doesn't match the image

Is there anything inside the top loop of the 8? Or anything between where the top and bottom loops meet

I had a chance to take slightly brighter photos:

If there is my eyes aren't good enough to see it. Most likely something on the holder in the first picture. Pretty sure it isn't what you posted though.

Your image is out of focus....your 1st image must of been shadows I was seeing. Nice coin plenty of meat on that bone.

Just compare the positions. Based upon the photos they don't match, but the different perspectives can be deceiving.

I'll probably end up buying a microscope camera soon. As of now I am using an Iphone 5s, which has a subpar camera.

Yes they can be....trying to judge from a photo there's a lot of variables. But nothing beat a try but a failure....if I think I see something I always point it out...you win some loose some....
