    Good evening folks,
I just got a few new morgans which were graded by a no name grading service that I cracked open for better pics and am thinking of sending them to NGC. Looking for opinions please!

First coin is an 1878 CC which looks pretty good and the second is an 1898 S with a nicely gold/violet toned obverse but it looks like something happened to it after it was toned. I can see what looks to be a finger print on her chin but the biggest concern is the hair on the backside of her head as just that area seems to lack luster... weird.

Here are some CT sized pics but I have posted some 1280x1024 sized ones on my flicker page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7643884@N03/4194137904/in/set-72157620791049550/

Just click the "all sizes" button just above the liberty on that first picture.
Here is the 1878 CC, pics of the 1898 S coming shortly.

    THANKS!!!
    J

Thank you Green! I don't know if you would grade them quite that high in hand as these are some little marks around the coin that probably don't show up so good in the pics, but I am hoping they are at least MS60's, 62's would be great and anything more then that I may poop myself! :)

I was just looking over the 1898 S and thin that the S is doubled or a RPM, or some VAM? I'm just starting my Morgan collection so I'm not that familiar with them yet - any help is appreciated.
    THANKS!!

1878 CC is a VAM 9 Tilted CC!

I was going over my 1878 this evening and just figured out that it is a VAM 9 Tilted CC!

Just goes to prove that you can still find good deals on Ebay! I had just finished reading a post that someone wrote about not being able to find good deals, searched Ebay for about 5 minutes and found this deal... I got these 2 coins plus an 1884 O graded NGC MS62 for $200 shipped:)
