Could you take photos on a neutral background. maybe white, grey or black background - like a piece of paper. looks like a lot of surface hits along Abe's face and shoulder. Is that a big fingerprint between the bottom of the wheats?
I think this post just taught me something..... I see a beautiful mint state coin and I am immediately drawn to the overall beauty. I start looking at the lines in the wheat ears and such things. I completely didn't see the fingerprint. I have got to look beyond that glassy eyed state I go into when I see a coin. Not that a fingerprint is that much of a black eye. However it is certainly something a seasoned collector such as myself should notice.
It's nice. It's shiny. It looks like it was just minted except for what looks like a fingerprint on the reverse. The reflection of light into the camera and the background make it too difficult to grade. However it's a 1956 -D. Over 1 billion were minted and in MS-63RB it's worth a dollar. It's nice but not worth the grading costs.
Great, now control your lighting a bit as you are getting hot spots in the image which is coming from the side mostly. You could hold a piece of paper in front of the light source to diffuse the light and reduce the number of highly reflected areas where detail is lost.
Nice job adjusting to what’s been mentioned. You have a much better picture to go on that I can imagine accurately represents the look in hand. Agree with AU. Lightly circulated coin with some remaining luster. Great coin for an album of wheats.
AU looks pretty good. Compare for yourself. ==> https://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/Lincoln/Grades FYI, now if you put another piece of paper or white foam on the opposite side of the light source / object you can add a bit more reflective light to that side to mimimize dark shadow areas. Photography is fun isn't it !!
Not worth much unless it's a key date or a spectacular example. This coin has too many problems to be anything more than a nice looking hole filler.
Wow and yes. I didn't even see the fingerprint until pointed out. I agree with AU. To the OP, value would be nominal too as I have jars of these things. 56D is probably one of the biggest piles of cents my wheat collection represents.
