I was given a nice little group of coins from my mother-in-law and in it was this buffalo nickel. What grade would you give it? The price for this coin jumps at VF 20, but I don't think this one gets there (Darn it!). Your opinions are most welcome as I am not a very experienced grader.
Here's a VF-20 PCGS 1926-S for comparison: http://cgi.ebay.com/1926-S-Buffalo-Nickel-PCGS-VF-20-Very-Nice-KEY-Coin-/250644515886
The pictures make it seem like it's very worn, but I think it compares favorably with the PCGS VF-20 coin that I posted a link to upthread. Better pictures would help in the grading.
I'll try to get some better pics of it using sunlight rather than the small lamp that I used for this pic. I'll post later today. As Merc said, regardless, this coin was free so I'm very pleased to have it.
Here are some different pics......but I don't see anything better than the F-15 mentioned earlier. I'm interested if anyone thinks differently with the new pics. Thanks.
