submitted for your consideration,is a 1798 large cent.i bought it at fine details. i know it is heavely corroded but there is detail, the face has problems and the planchlet is rough.
i lightened the pix some to bring out the detail,it is somewhat darker.
i was wondering if anyone can help with grading and what would it net,can anybody tell
what type hair style and maby the sheldon number?

Agree with the grade - style 2 hair - I think a S-179. Really hard to tell.

I hate the look of crusty , corroded copper Id rather have a brown heavily worn coin. But saying that this is still a nice coin, I would also say fine , corroded

I like the detail in this coin. The question is now, can the corrossion be stopped.

To stop corrosion I have heard of many different 'fixes'.

However, what makes you think that it will continue?
