european XF....................one or two marks in the fields downgrade it from unc. as the relief is excellent.
It's easy - the TPGs routinely grade AU coins as low MS. But that doesn't mean they really are MS. Think of like this - if you walked into a dealer's shop and he had multiple coins in his display case that you looked at and you could plainly see that the coins had wear on them, but yet the dealer had the 2x2s marked as MS - would you believe that the coins were MS ? No, you would not. You would walk away saying that the dealer was over-grading his coins and that you would not buy them. Well, it has gotten to the point that the TPGs are doing the very same thing - they are over-grading the coins. And because the majority of the buying public is willing to accept the word of the TPGs over what their own eyes tell them they going along and accepting the word of the TPGs. Only when the buying public wakes up, realizes what is going on, and refuses to keep on buying these coins that have been over-graded by the TPGs will this practice stop. Until that day comes it is up to you to deal with it.
