Probably one of my favorite dimes I have.
Although, I feel like its been polished? Or maybe not. But it does have some nice purple toning :)
It has some, it seems, grease filled area, and some damage near the "In God We Trust"

Anyways, I was wondering what you think. thanks

Well, the top pics make me lean towards VF-35.

For some reason polished Mercs are really cool lookign to me, that ones pretty awesome with the toning. Nice Merc man! :thumb: BTW, I'd say VF also.

    thanks.
and yeah, I really like the look too, but when I compared it to a Merc that wasnt polished, and higher grade - probably closer to AU - I thought... oh darn! its polished! but I like it :)

edit: here's the one Im talking about

With the fields being smaller, polishing isn't as detracting on dimes.
At least to me it seems that way.

    I agree.
I also have a 1962 Quarter- thats polished. And although its nice and shiny, I do prefer the natural look much better.

Also, if anyone could grade that '37 Merc I posted, that would be great :)

Id call the 37 AU. I have a few 1937 Mercurys in the AU to MS range, they are nice looking coins. I love them.

The 37 is XF - there is visible wear on the hair and bands. nice coin. the others are VF.

I'd grade the coin VF details, cleaned/polished, net F.

Neat coin though and a little piece of history. THanks for sharing...Mike
