    Hi folks.
Just trying to get opinions on the grade on this 1832 capped bust half. Have someone who wishes to sell it to me. I am not relly good at gradeing coins just want to be sure if the price is inline with the grade. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

I can't tell if that is damage, a planchet flaw, or a strike-through. Either way, I'd pass on the coin. They are common enough that you can find another to consider pretty easily.

I would put it in the VF range, but would pass on it. The mark on the face is distracting. Just my opinion.

The coin is VF. Like others had said, the mark on the face is a concern. It is an O-103 which is an R1 so no bonus points there. I would put the value in the $60-$70 range. I would pass on it also since there are much better examples readily available.

No, there were draped bust dollars, but no Capped Bust.

VF-30 I'd stick with the natural grey look though.

Thanks for the opinions. He offered it for $35.00 i figured why not. Not a real big investment.

Heck, for $35 I'd take it too. I'd take one a lot worse off than that for that little.

    It's a damaged low VF. Probably VF20.

$35 is more than fair, assuming you are happy with the coin. A problem-free, TPG-graded one might cost almost 3 times that.
