So i was bored today i live just a little ways from an antique mall here in michigan. there they have a bin with chuck full of world coins, i go through it from time to time not expecting much. well today i found these i have not the slightest clue what they are and i know you guys like trying to figure out what the heck they are so here you go. these are the best pics i can get, sorry. also do note there are two different coins. thanks!!!!!!
The first piece is a good luck piece from Bavaria in southern Germany.I haven't a clue about the second piece though. Aidan.
That's where a knowledge of languages comes in handy. It is one skill that can be picked up working in the numismatic trade. Aidan.
The first one seems to be a good luck token. "Bayerische Vereinsbank" was a bank in Bavaria (1869-1998); I cannot read the text underneath the BV logo. The piece looks similar to a Glückspfennig (Lucky Penny). An actual Fed. Rep. 1 Pfennig coin has a diameter of 16.5 mm - maybe this one has the same or about the same size? "Ich bringe Glück" means "I bring luck". Now that second piece ... sorry, I have no idea either. Christian
That second one looks like the lion that's on a lot of Finnish coins, but then there's the "6" on the other side and no other markings.
