Seems I recieved the wrong coins. My order was for 10 sets of P&D Bison nickels at .99 cents/set w/free shipping. Instead I I got 10 sets of P&D Minnesota quarters and 1 P&D Bison nickel set. I only paid $9.90 total but I'm not sure if its worth sending back because by the time I go and buy a new padded envelope and pay postage that I shouldn't have had to, I just don't know. David
I think you got a better deal then you were going to get...you wanted 5 cents and now you have 25 cents...I would email the guy and see if he would pay for the return... Speedy
I think the fair thing to do is to contact the seller and notify them of the error. They probably have another buyer that received your lot. In any event, it sounds like a mistake (we all make them) and you should probably leave it up to the seller to decide how she/he wants to handle it.
All I know is that I shouldn't have to pay any extra for return shipping or a padded envelope as this was not my fault. David
I just sent a message to the seller. I also went on to say that I shouldn't have to pay for return postage nor for a padded envelope. Hopefully the situation will work out. I really want the Bison P&D sets. David
No, you do not have to pay for return shipping even if the seller requests it. It was their error not yours. Like I said though, sounds like a simple error and my guess is that they will be very reasonable and apologetic.
David, if I was the seller and had made a dumb mistake over a dollar's worth of nickels I would tell you to keep what I had sent and send you the nickels at no extra cost. It will be interesting to see what response you get from the seller. By the way, what you paid for 10 sets of nickels should buy you an uncirc. roll of each mint. That would leave you a bunch of nickels to hold or trade? I'm assuming that by set you mean one each of the P & D coins.
Ideally that would be the best scenerio. I'll keep everyone posted on the response I get. I opted for the single coin P&D sets as shipping was free. Plus it would cost more for postage for two rolls. I just wanted some singles for right now. I would hate to spend all that on rolls just to bust em open for a couple coins. David
I'm not nds76 btu I bet it would cost about $3 total to get the envelope and mail it...all in all..that isn't much when you think of the friend you would make from the dealer...that is worth much more than $3--but I agree that since he made the mess up he should pay for the postage. Speedy
i get new nickels for 5 cents each and new quarters only cost me 25 cents. i have banks here where i live.. don't you guys?
My bank seems to be a "fool service" bank. I had to go to a different bank ten miles away to get a roll of halves.
I can get 40 P nickels for $2 from my bank too, but D nickels are very hard to come by here on the east coast, particularly in rolls. So literaly, its ebay or the highway
I believe there are "trading" partnerships that have/are working out to everyones satisfaction. Might try developing one of these. Just an idea
Been nearly 2 days now with no response from the seller. I think I may have to take this as a loss. It's only a few $$$ anyways. I will just have to leave appropriate feedback... David
Hey David-- I don't know why you should be mad...you got quarters and not nickels...you would have to pay more for the quarters...the guy is at a loss...you got a good deal.... I would leave good feedback and just tell what happened. Speedy
It's not that i'm mad about recieving better coins, i'm just mad that the seller hasn't done anything about it and hasn't responed to my e-mails. Maybe I can sell some P&D quarter sets on eBay lol!! David
David, Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I'm sure it has happened to quite a few of us who deal on EBAY. What I hate is when the seller refuses to pay for shipping even though the coin they described is not the same one they sent. This happened to me and it took me several weeks to get my refund. However they only paid the cost of the actual sale and did not include the cost of shipping. I explained that this was not the coin they had described in their auction. They charged me $3 for nothing. Their explanantion was that they cannot refund shipping costs to all their customers who don't like the coin they received. Needless to say I will never do business with this seller again. By the way, they were also a Power Seller. I wonder how many other customers have paid for shipping on returned items. This also did not include the cost of my having to ship it back to them either. Watch it when you give them negative feedback. A lot of the Power Sellers will not give you feedback until you give them feedback. If you give them negative feedback they will turn right around and give it right back to you. It may not be worth it. Jim
This seller has given me a positive feedback when they first recieved my payment. So I am safe in that regard if I chose to leave a negative. If they happened to have sent a replacement and tell me to keep what they sent before w/o contacting me to let me know, well then that's their fault for lack of communication. Also I think many eBayers have a misconception about "power sellers" in thinking that their the best or most reliable and that simply isn't so. David
There really isn't enough space for feedback comments. How does this sound? Wrong coins, no response, bounced e-mails. Never doing business with again.
