Hey redneckjay... It' is great that you are finding these, however, for us to provide any help for you..we need a pic.. Have a camera? Post a pic! The condition is key to value.. RickieB
http://www.geocities.com/stealth_cobra220/stars/lookup.html here is a star note lookup to see if your note is worth anything. i would still keep it because it is a * note and they are harder to find. if its white, they made a bunch of them and are not worth anything over face. if its yellow or any other color, it is rare and worth more than face value. like i said before, i keep ALL stars. no matter of condition or rareity, i still keep every one i find.
They're in pretty good shape, not crisp but not trashed either. one of them is a 1999 & the other is a 2003, both are $10 bills. I have a camera but I lend it to a friend while she went on vacation but once she gets back I'll post some pics. it should be sometime around Friday. Once again Thank You for all the help you guys are giving me. Jay
Can you type in the serial number of both. We can look them up and find out if you got a keeper!:thumb: Michael
What does typing in the serial # tell you & at what site can you do it at? is a site that anyone can use?
Different prefix letters can tell you what district the notes were printed for. Some are more rare than others. I have references I use. There are web sites and publications all over to find such info. I was merely offering to do the work for you. Let us know the serial numbers and we can tell you if they are rare or not. Michael
Both of my * bills had X>640,000 I think, it said that the text would change color if it was anything else but it stay white so I guess that's what it means.
some people's rules about star notes is if the text box changes colors, they keep it. and if they enter it and the text box stays white, they spend it. i personally keep every star note i find because they are all rare in my book. what about you guys? do you keep every star note you get?
I got 2 $5.00 * notes this week, not in the best shape so I'm still deciding what to do with them. I also picked up 2 $20.00 (1) 1969 and (1) 1990 in fair shape, although not *'s I thought I would share. John
I just recently got into collecting paper money, but I love finding * notes I have all my friends looking for me and everything. I use to be big into coins and had quite a collection but I hit some real hard times about 15 yrs. ago and had to sell them along with my baseball cards and comics, so I'm just now at the point in my life where I can get back into the things I love to do. I do have one hell of a Nascar die-cast car collection of Dale Earnhardt & Dale Jr.. I just hope that I don't get to that point in my life again.
i got 2 $1 stars and a $10 star today =) nothing old, the $10 was 1999, and the $1's were 2003 and a 2003A
I just got a 1981 $50 bill, it's not a * note but it's in wicked nice shape for the age. I also started getting the sets of uncirc. wash. $1 coins, 1 coin fron ea. mint, I think these will be worth collecting.
