What do you guys think of this? I was on the hunt for Franklins today to finish my album. I needed a 49, 49-D and I wanted a proof and a 64 Kennedy to put at the end. Went through a lot of tables in disappointment after seeing a lot of beat up, handled, spotted proofs for 20 to $30. I kind of wanted a 1963 as well. Then I come to this seller and he let me take the following home for a grand total of......... $60. The proof set had the nicest PF Franklin I had seen at the show. It's a perfect, spot free set. Came in this holder and the cent has a really cool blue toning pattern going on, front and back. I was prepared to pay $60 for this 49-D Franklin half BY ITSELF. I'm glad I got the 64 Kennedy there too. Had plenty of them but it's easier to buy another. Here's a few quick shots I took with our new Rebel t3i, standard lens. (Not the best but I haven't totally figured this camera out.) Oh yeah, I got a 49-P at another table. The album is complete. Going to post some pics over in the US coins side right now.
I love Franklins and it looks like you got a couple of nice ones. Many people deride the tiny eagle on the reverse but I think it balances out the design quite nicely.
I'm surprised the proof set was still there. There was a herd of people at this table. I didn't go there to get a proof set and I really didn't appreciate how nice the Lincoln was until after I got home. I was focused on the Franklin. Didn't even ask for a lower price. I was just happy he had the products I wanted. lol I feel like I got the Kennedy and the proof set for free! Those holders sell for a few bucks as it is. I've gotten great deals from this dealer in the past.
