Thought I would post this here when Dak mentioned the nickels section, pretty nice here, lol. I bought $10 of pre 59 nickels the other day just curious what I would find, and I think it was a good search. My finds were: a 1937 buffalo a 1938 p nickel! 39 p 40 D, S 41 P, D, S 42 non silver P, D 43 S! 46 P, D, S 47 P, D, S 48 P, D, S 49 P, D 51 P, D 52 P, D, S 53 P, D, S 54 P, D, S 55 D 56 P, D, 57 P, D 58 P, D and a unc. 57D and an unc 59 D and a 57 D in BU. So I think I did pretty good, helped my circulated set of nickels a lot, lol. I alos bought a 50 D in UNC for $15 ( a little up there, I know) but then also a 44 P in BU condition (luster on this baby is gorgeous!) Alos bought three 53 P in Unc condition for $2 a piece. Not a bad day. I'll post pics for y'all if y'all want. Thanks for looking. Phoenix
You have done me proud Phoenix!!! Search those for RPM's as coinlover suggested! There are a lot of interesting ones to find!! Welcome to Variety Nickels my friend!! DAK
Thanks! I think I did pretty good too. Thanks! Thanks! Actually, I am taking a close look at two of them, need to get a stronger loupe this week. But I think I did, just need to be sure, lol. Thanks! I am, lol, I am. A lot to find, lol. Thanks, will enjoy it here. Thanks for all the replies! Phoenix
Lol, wish I got them from a bank. Actually got them from a guy online that offered me them, saying he saw them at his coin dealer, and offered them to me for $10. Goes about 10 cents a coin, which isn't to bad, considering all I found, lol.
I actually only need a few more to finish my set: 38 D 38 S 39 D 39 S All the silver except the 43 S 49 S 50 P, S 51 S 55 P Not bad I would say, a bit to do, but should be easy, I am at the moment only doing a circulated set, later on doing an unc set, and maybe attempt a FS set, lol. But that would be in the DISTANT future, lol. But I think I am doing pretty good.
