It's darker in hand but the cartwheel luster is unbelievable on this one. I was actually researching another Morgan when I ran across it. I had no intention of buying a coin. I was not shopping for any coins and haven't bought any recently. I saw this one and stuck it in the watch list. After a few days I couldn't resist anymore. I thought I was done buying toned morgans but this one really grabbed me. In full day light it looks very close to the pic.

Very nice looking lady you got there Vess1. I'm surprised it only got a 64 instead of a 65*. Congrats!

Something to be said for good lighting

Here's the same coin with the best pics I could get of it:

It doesn't look like this either. It's much closer to the sellers pics. The whole obverse has an orange, rust colored hue that I can't capture. The seller took an excellent photo but I think they juiced it. My pics can't do it any justice though.

This is a good example of how important photography is with toning. The difference between their pics and mine probably would have been over $100 difference selling price.

Obviously , if it looked like my pics, it wouldn't have gotten a star!

Heya vess1, that is a beautiful Morgan. I can see why you couldn't resist. I also know it's frustrating trying to capture the colors in the pics. :)

What lighting are you using to photograph?

I take all my pics under a tensor light using a white sheet of paper to set the white balance. It doesn't work well for toners. It works great for most everything else.

Great coin to grab. You did well and I couldn't have passed on it either.
