What wouldn't you give to own a coin like this? (even though it only looks PR68DCAM) http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170084808646 That's what I call a beautiful coin!
Very nice! That is a good example proof! Very awesome. Wonder how high it will go? Thanks for sharing! Phoenix
At least two. IMO, this coin doesnt qualify to be a 69. Look at all of the distractions on the coin. It looks like small scratches and scuffs. I think I'll pass on this one.
I want to ask a question. It says that it is a NGC PR 69. Why does it not show this coin slabbed. It may be a stupid question but i was curious . thanks.
bama: It does show the NGC slab to the right of the page. Also, looks like a 63 at best. There are a number of marks, especially the mark in front of Liberty's mouth. Reverse has a bunch also. Unless the slab has been badly abused, and then, why not have it re-slabbed?
Current price is $55,000. Last one sold for 126,500. My guess would be between $125,000 and $150,000. If you are not just interested in Morgans, take a look at this one http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=432&Lot_No=2134 It may not grade quite as high, but I would not mind just cashing the check for the "buyer's premium".
I'm with you does not look like the grade. Also reading the Neg feedback about Heritage I not sure it is a place to buy from
Here's a cool coin...pretty toning, high grade, low mintage... http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=432&Lot_No=856
Those I would grade Pr 68 on the first, and on the second almost looks like a PR 68 borderline 69. Is that a cameo? Hard to tell for me. They are beautiful coins though. Very nice. Phoenix
