I wasn't going to share this one until I could get a better shot, but it seems the comp I use to upload pic of my camera is on taking a break indefinitely. It has some faint blue toning, that showed up better in the photo. Gordian III AR Antoninianus. 238-239 AD. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, radiate, draped & cuirassed bust right / VIRTVS AVG, Virtus standing facing in military dress, head left, with shield & spear. RIC 6, RSC 381.
Very smooth lookin' coin, randygeki (great eye-appeal with that very attractive toning!!) ... ahaha, it almost looks like Virtus is posing with his freshly caught salmon!
That coin has a great reverse and lovely toning. Still need a denarius of him eventually. *Onwards my wagon..AWAY!!!!*
Love it Randy , I have a Gordian somewhere . Now you made me want to find it . John A. is right I love the flow lines , strike , centering and color . WTG Buddy .
randygeki => speaking of bad pics, here is my Gordian III Antoninianus ... ... sadly, on my example it looks as the though the salmon got away!!
That is a nice Gordian, Randy. Nice addition. And that picture is still way better than what I am able to shoot.
Randy, love the blue color, looks like a 30lber to me, Steve your's looks like he was left holding the gaff...
