Gordian III

I wasn't going to share this one until I could get a better shot, but it seems the comp I use to upload pic of my camera is on taking a break indefinitely. It has some faint blue toning, that showed up better in the photo.

Gordian III AR Antoninianus. 238-239 AD. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, radiate, draped & cuirassed bust right / VIRTVS AVG, Virtus standing facing in military dress, head left, with shield & spear. RIC 6, RSC 381.

That's a lovely coin. The metal flow and toning on the obverse are very distinctive.

 

Very smooth lookin' coin, randygeki (great eye-appeal with that very attractive toning!!)

... ahaha, it almost looks like Virtus is posing with his freshly caught salmon!

 

Nice coin and love the color of the toning.

That coin has a great reverse and lovely toning.

Still need a denarius of him eventually.
