Several years ago I acquired an interesting bronze coin of Gordian III from Antioch - Pisidia, pictured below.

While browsing through the latest offerings from Roma E-Sale 95 I spotted a double-die match for the coin in my collection. The Roma example appears to be a later strike from dies in a more degraded condition.

The doubling seems to be on both sides. How is this different than double struck?

The image of a double strike is from two striking's with a shift in the planchet, these coins are both struck from the same dies.
