I have one of those Goodacre Dollars still in the original holder. About a year ago I was told they are worth around $400. Are they still holding their value?

Is that the Sacageawea dollar variety that I remember hearing something about three or four years ago?

Yes Roy that's the one. The mint's payment to Glenna Goodacre for her engraving which she had slabbed by ICG and sold to the public at $200 each. very limited amount, I think only 5,000 were offered (correct me if I'm wrong). I know many collectors that purchased these have since had them reslabbed and graded but I left mine in the original holder as originally purchased.

If you have one of the original ICG coins, yes they are still selling on ebay for about $400 + or -. Now if you have an autographed ICG example - or one of the coins slabbed by PCGS - and you listed it on ebay at BIN $750 - I bet it wouldn't last a half hour before it was sold ;)

So from what I have read, If I send my coin to PCGS for grading and reslabbing it will raise the value that much? ;)

Well it certainly shouldn't - but all I can do is report is what happens on ebay.

Thanks for the info. It will still be tough for me to break it out. Strong believer in keeping things in their original packaging.

I wouldn't crack it out if I were you - you won't like the results. It'll come back in an ordinary slab. You need the ICG slab for the provenance.
