I have recently been told not to buy coins from tv channels like csn or hsn. So now i'm looking for a site to buy the complete set of 1999-2008 P&D State Quarters. I found one set on the Littleton Coin website. http://www.littletoncoin.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product5|10001|10001|-1|99418|11424 Is this a safe site or does anyone else have a safer site to purchase from?
Littleton is safe but usually overpriced. I don't know the best place to get the quarters, but someone will probably answer who does.
Yea i noticed they were overpriced too. Certain items that i can buy directly from the us mint cost about $2-3 from littleton
I got a set for less than face value by searching ebay for 'Quater". Try searching "Dolar" for more deals.
I personally do NOT like anything that Littleton is involved with. A great example can be found in their 2007 holiday catalog. Their 1943 cents look to be BU, and everything in the item description makes you believe that their BU except the word Reprocessed in tiny letters, sandwiched between words of praise. I suppose their not a shady company, but their wording is deceptive, and their prices are high. ~Lafayette
I would like to suggest that a person might use the "OPEN" section when selling or looking for certain coins. I would much rather buy or sell to someone here. I received some coins yesterday I "stole" from Tdec1000, (Brilliantcents). He posted in the Open section and I followed the link to ebay. The key variety coins are terrific whether I keep or someday sell. Be sure to check him out on ebay! Jim
You could try Alaska Coin Exchange (www.alaskacoinexchange.com). They have reasonable prices and ship for $2.50. I was surprised how quick my order arrived.
I was sent a free catalog by littleton. In the envelope, they included 3 coins: a buffalo nickel, a mercury dime, and a washington quarter, all common dates. They said I either had to send them back or they would charge me $30. Sounds pretty shady to me.
Yeah, their "coins on approval" service quite frankly sucks. You have to pay the shipping fee, which added up in a hurry. Not to mention the coins were nothing special, and overpriced.
