Hey all, So I'm currently searching for a seated half that fits my needs. So far I've only been using eBay checking every couple says to see of new listings. However I'm just not finding what I'm looking for and new inventory doesn't seem to arrive on the bay that often. As a result I've been trying to widen my search. I've found a few place, heritage auctions (i actually found one their i really like i just dont know enough about their service) and northeastcoins for example. Does anyone have any suggested places to look for quality coins besides the bay? Also I came across this coin today and wanted your opinion. It's claimed to be AU and I'd love it PCGS certified. I'd also love to just try PCGS and see how yet run. So would it be worth the risk to pick them up and send in to PCGS? http://www.grovecoin.com/coin_photo.php?coinid=1016 Any suggestions would be great.
Here is a list of Seated dealers now understand that they specialize in seated and your going pay strong money for some due to the variety and the one you posted has been cleaned http://www.dickosburn.com/ http://www.richuhrichcoins.com/ http://www.hlrc.com/completelist.aspx?ct=7 http://www.briangreerrarecoins.com/inventory.html?c=37 http://www.neworleansrarecoins.com/ http://www.davidlawrence.com/invent...pickseries/120/sn/Liberty-Seated-Half-Dollars http://www.collectorscorner.com/Category/Category.aspx?catId=121&tl=false
I would suggest you stay away from coins that look like the one in the link provided. The piece has obviously been dipped, but might also have been cleaned since the surfaces look so darn dull. If you want a dipped white silver coin then there are plenty already in PCGS or NGC holders. edited
