heritage auctions is a great site. for nice dmpl morgans there is don rinkor. morgans are plentiful, so take your time to find the ones you like the best.
Morgans are everywhere, brutha. Check Teletrade.com . Are you comfortable grading them ? If so, great. If not, may I suggest "How to Grade U.S. Coins" by James Halperin. Really breaks down exactly how to grade Morgans. :thumb: Once your done with the Book Learnin', head down to a local dealer or show and cast your eye upon hundreds of certified examples. Before long, the difference 'twixt MS63, 64, 65, and 66 will be clear as a bell. What is it you're interested in ? Common dates ? Keys ? Semi-keys ? Rolls ? DMPL ?
At this point, I'm not interested in any high grade coins, but simply attaining a collection for as close to spot as possible. I realize that some dates are quite rare and will be much more expensive. It seems like Morgans are fun coin to collect as they are plentiful and have substancial value as 90% silver. Thanks for the replies.
apmex.com....... they deal in everythgin under the sun from dmpl to ag morgans. if you are working toward a date set or a date/mm set you may be able to fill some holes easily there.... flea markets, antiques stores and dealers are also top of my list......makes sure you know what you are doing before antique malls and flea markets
I'm with Hobo on this one. Local shops or shows. This link might help locate a show in your area. http://www.coinworld.com/News/ShowCalendar.asp clembo
Take a look at alaskacoinexchange.com for circulated morgans. It might have what you are looking for. I've bought from them with good results. I also like circulated morgans, and the variations in toning and wear are just as attractive to me as cartwheel luster.
