good or bad tonning

    i have a 1953 dime with a purpleish black with a hint of yellow mixed in with the tonning sorry about no picture but i was wonder what color is the best type of tonning and how much would it increase (or decrease) the vaule of the coin

    Some people will pay more for toned/tarnished coins, that they consider "pretty".
    How much more, depends on the individual buyer, and the circumstances under which it is being sold.

    Some people won't pay more for it, especially without being able to look at it in hand.

    Toning premiums are all about eye-appeal. If it looks "pretty", chances are it will be highly valued.
