Good or bad penny error

    Hi I'm still new at this. I received change back and discovered this 1989 penny. Is this a first for anyone?     It looks like nothing more than a crappy Zincoln to me. The Mint really pulled a boner when they started making the Lincoln cent out of 95% zinc back in 1982.

    If you are talking about the ring inside the perimeter, it is a type of die deterioration that plagues copper plated zinc cents. It is commonly referred to as a " ridge ring". Scroll down to the glossary entry here:
