My latest addition to my formative collection of classic commem's dwells below. Anybody want to hazard a grade guess?
Great movie quote from Cider House Rules. Nice commemorative! I am thinking either 63 or 64, but will go with 64. Heading to Maine this summer. Enjoy! TC
She's a beauty , I'll go with 64 too , if the obverse had a tad more luster showing it could go 65 , the fields are sure clean enough for it even with those die lines , and a 65 wouldn't suprise me .
Well, well! green18 got some green beans! Good for you! It deserves the grade too, I was conservative with 63 thinking PCGS might have held back with the grade.
Passing through the southern coastal region in August as part of a family vacation. Maine has always been a great place for a SUMMER vacation. :smile I wish I could be in Acadia National Park for the release of their NP quarter on June 11. TC
Ok, hate to be a jerk, (but those who know me it doesn't bother me that much), but on the reverse are those scratches above and to the left of Maine? Are they real or in the photo? I thought they looked like cleaning scratches. TBF, it could be the photo. Not trying to punk your coin Green, but you asked me to guess.
Just an aside here folks. Google Penobscot Expedition and see what pops. Some equate it with the worst loss in US naval history second only to Pearl Harbor. Paul Revere was there as a commander of artillery and was brought up on charges of disobedience and cowardice. He was later absolved..........
Wasn't there a thread that stated The Mint had cut back on "the party" surrounding the release of the new quarters? Is something happening up in Maine (Acadia) on June 11? If there's cake - maybe I'll drive up and have a piece
Hello Green18, It looks like a nice coin but I am too late getting here to guess the grade. I do like the wisp of light gold toning on the coin.
