Guess what else..I HATE shopping! cant stand it. only time I go near a store is to work or to buy my kid clothes or gifts....and I rarely have cash on me. Jim...I have no idea what 'proof' is..lol
Just grabbing out of the till. There seems to be someone in the area that must have hit hard times. This old stuff and American coin has been hitting out tills for the last couple of months. Cant wait until he dumps the real good stuff..lol
Twiggs,I can guess that you are looking through the 25c. coins for the commemorative ones such as the 2000 dated one with a snowman on it or trying to find the new 25c. coins that commemorate the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Vancouver,British Columbia. Aidan.
actually, snagged a 2010 hockey tonight also. As for the snowman, those type of coins were only through the mint and not for general circulation. Also the santa and funky moose etc...bummer
Twiggs, can you please post some photos? It's a pity that the snowman one was only issued as a medal-coin like the Bullwinkle & Queen's 80th. Birthday ones were. You'd better report that Winter Olympic Games coin for listing in Krause to Tom.Michael@fwpubs.com . Aidan.
twiggs,a proof is a coin struck for collectors by the mint usuing specially polished dies and planchets. proofs are very shiny and deeply struck.both the 1983S and 1977S are proofs. the 1983S quarter is worth around $4, and the 1977S cent is worth around $2.50. not a bad find!:high5:
